Oregon Math & Science Partnership Program RFP released

The Oregon Math & Science Partnership program has released a request for proposals for collaboration between high-need school districts, institutions of higher education, and high-need schools. The proposal is due April 26, 2010 and is for up to $300,000/year for three years. IES What Works Clearinghouse Update

Update from the Institute of Education Sciences' What Works Clearinghouse:

The What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) released a variety of publications throughout 2009. As a new year begins, the WWC invites you to take a look at our 2009 releases. We've also added a guided tour to our site so users can learn more about the WWC and how to use our search features, interpret intervention reports, and get a detailed look at quick reviews and practice guides. The WWC works to connect educators with evidence to make informed decisions. Visit our website often at whatworks.ed.gov and check your inbox for updates and releases throughout the new year.

International Sports Programming Initiative posted

The International Sports Programming Initiative has been posted on the Health & PE Funding Opportunities webpage. Proposal themes are (1) Training Sport Coaches; (2) Youth Sports Management; (3) Sport and Disability; and, (4) Sport and Health. Projects may be for one to three years and total $225,000.

Learn & Serve Grants Posted in Student Services

Learn and Serve America Higher Education programs grant opportunity just released to:

  • Create or expand organized service-learning programs that increase social responsibility and commitment to the community in which the institution is located;
  • Promote student-initiated and student-designed projects as part of service-learning programming;
  • Support service-learning programs that will demonstrably address local community issues;
  • Improve student engagement in academic coursework through service-learning; and
  • Strengthen the service-learning infrastructure within institutions of higher education in the United States.

New Math Focused Grant Posted

The goal of Proactive Recruitment in Introductory Science and Mathematics is to strengthen the nation's scientific competitiveness by increasing the numbers of well-prepared, successful U.S. undergraduate majors and minors in science and mathematics.
